I want you to know how truly blessed and excited I am to be the pastor of Marbledale Baptist Church. It is such a wonderful church with a rich history of service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To follow in the footsteps of former pastors like Al Smith and Oliver Wolfenbarger, two wonderful men of God, are some pretty big shoes to fill.

Not only does Marbledale have a great past, but an even brighter future. Mark 9:23 says “all things are possible to Him that believeth” and I believe that Marbledale’s best days are still yet to come.

I want to sincerely pledge to do my very best to lead Marbledale to its best days yet.

Remembering where we came from and knowing where we are going and leading Marbledale to truly be:
A Church with a Heart…In the Heart of Marbledale

I am married to my wonderful wife Lisa. We have three sons, Stephen, Patrick and Tyler, and we have 3 grandchildren.

I have been a pastor for over 20 years with Marbledale being my fifth church.

Please accept this as your personal invitation to come and join us.
May God bless you and your family!

Pastor Randy

Director of Children's Ministries

Kelli Smith

Hi! My name is Kelli Smith. I grew up in Corryton, TN and was saved and baptized at Graveston Baptist Church. My extended family has attended Marbledale my entire life, and my family joined when I was around 12. My husband, Caleb, and I got married in June of 2015, and we have been blessed with a beautiful little girl, Makenli. I graduated from Carson-Newman University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education in 2016.

I work at Jefferson Middle School as the 6th Grade Resource Teacher. I have always loved children, and have a passion for working with children with different abilities. In our free time, my husband and I enjoy taking our daughter to many different zoos and aquariums. We also enjoy spending time with our dog and two goats.

I am so excited to serve as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Marbledale, and I hope to provide a ministry that allows children to experience the unconditional love of Christ.

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14

Music Director

Chris Rupert

I have been around gospel music most of my life. I grew up singing with my family and traveling as "The Ruperts." I have also sang with The Supernals, Bloodline, His Own and Parable, just to name a few.

My wife, Dana, and I have two children, Hayden & RaeAnne. Music and worship are at the center of our lives. We also enjoy baseball, cheerleading, going to the movies, traveling to Disney World and much more.

For many years we attended Hillcrest Baptist Church where I served as the Music Director and the Young Adult Sunday School teacher.

I want to share the lyrics from a song that has ministered to our family many times...God Wants To Hear You Sing.

He wants to hear our praise on our cheerful days, when pleasant times outweigh the bad by far. But when suffering comes along and we still sing His song that is when we bless the Father's heart.

God wants to hear you sing when the waves are crashing round you, when the fiery darts surround you, when despair is all you see. God wants to hear your voice when the wisest man has spoken and says your circumstance is as hopeless as can be. That's when God wants to hear you sing.

I am thrilled to be a part of Marbledale Baptist Church and am looking forward to what God has in store.

Youth Director's

Shane & Joy Gregg

Hello, my name is Shane Gregg.  I was born and raised here in Knoxville, TN.  As a child I remember watching my father as he stood each Sunday before the congregation and preached the word of God.  I looked up to him and always said to myself “one day, I will be just like him.”  As the years went by and I began to grow into a young man of my own, the dream slowly faded away.  In the year 2000 I was joined back up after many years with a young lady that had stolen my heart years before.  As we reunited we both realized that Gods plan for us was to spend the rest of our lives together.  We were married in that same year.  She was very involved in her church and taught the high school students on Wednesday nights.  One day she asked if I would be interested in teaching a lesson to the students.  I kind of chuckled to myself, “me…teaching teenagers?”  I accepted her offer and started studying. I had my notes, my page markers, and even a few jokes to loosen up the students a bit.  As I stood before those young people that night I was amazed at the drawing that I had to grow closer to them.  The passion that I felt to teach them about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The desire that I had to show them the true path to Joy, Peace, and Happiness.  That group of kids (students is the politically correct word) changed my life forever.  God had called this good ol’ country boy from the Asbury Community into the field of student ministry.  I didn’t quite fill my daddy’s shoes, but I found Gods plan for me and his calling to serve in ministry.  My beautiful wife, Joy Gregg, and I began our journey in youth ministry in the year 2000.  Our boys, Zavin and Zach were 3 and 4 years old at the time and they were there by our sides each and every step of the way.  Our first few years of “getting our feet wet” were served under the guidance of Pastor Randy Troutman at Stoney Point Baptist Church.  He is always so encouraging and a great mentor.  We are honored to serve by his side once again.  We served as the youth directors at Stoney Point for the last 14 years.  We joined the staff of Marbledale Baptist Church in October of 2015.  We are blessed and honored to serve and continue to fulfill Gods calling with the beautiful people here at Marbledale.  God has blessed us in ways that we could never have imagined.  We both have a love for young people and a love for Jesus Christ.  We would love to have the opportunity to meet you, have a little fun together along the way, and tell you how to experience love eternal.
